Goals of the Bloomsburg University Mathematics & Science Resource Center:

Our primary goal is change the way that K-12 math and science teachers are prepared. To obtain this goal, we organize events for pre-service and in-service teachers at Bloomsburg University and in the surrounding area.  Please see the MSRC Events box to the right for currently planned activities.

Our secondary goal is to encourage high school students to study more mathematics and science while in high school, so that they come to college prepared.  To obtain this goal, we organize summer experiences for students in grades 6-11.  Please see the MSRC Summer Experiences box for more information on this summer’s planned activities.

Our third goal is to make the transition from high school to college easier for students who are interested in becoming math and science majors at Bloomsburg University.

Our final goal is to provide resources for anyone interested in enhancing current math and science teaching.  To obtain this goal, we have math and science manipulatives available for loan.  Please click on the MSRC Resources link for more information on these resources.  We have begun a partnership with the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum to better facilitate our ability to loan these materials.

If you have any questions about these goals, or would like more information, please contact our director, Dr. Elizabeth Mauch.  She can be reached by email at emauch@bloomu.edu or by phone at 570-389-4103.
