S-STEM Scholarships
The College of Science and Technology at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is proud to announce a new scholarship program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF DUE-0727177).
We are currently looking for interested SENIORS (Class of 2008) to apply
Students interested in majoring in mathematics, computer science, chemistry, geosciences, biology (except Allied Health) electronic engineering technology or physics and who are eligible for need-based Federal financial aid can apply to obtain a scholarship to Bloomsburg University in the amount of up to $10,000 per year for four years.
In order to be eligible for a scholarship a student must

be citizens of the United States, Nationals of the United States, aliens admitted as refugees, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence;

demonstrate academic potential or ability through their high school Grade Point Average (GPA), high school graduation position, SAT score, performance in an Upward Bound Program (if available), and willingness to participate in program and university-provided support activities. Interviews with high school/Upward Bound counselors and with the student may be used to aid in the selection process. Students in groups that are under-represented in the sciences will be given special consideration.

demonstrate financial need, defined as qualifying as a first-generation college student and satisfying maximum family income requirements.
If admitted to Bloomsburg University under this program, students would be required to

be enrolled full time in the following majors: mathematics, computer science, chemistry, biology (except Allied Health), physics, electrical engineering technology or geosciences. Enrollment must be full-time for each semester a student receives a scholarship.

continue to demonstrate academic potential or ability by maintaining a quality point average above 2.50 and a math and science QPA above a 3.0 for continued eligibility. Students will be continued in the program as long as eligibility criteria and performance indicators are satisfied.

attend weekly workshops and tutoring in mathematics and in their major.
