Ballroom Room Partitions

Room partitions are used to separate the ballroom into separate room configurations (See also main touchscreen, Screen 2 Room Configurations). Two motorized room partition walls are located in the Ballroom. By opening or closing the walls, different combinations of rooms are acheived. Combinations are shown below.

  1. 1/2/3 - All rooms are separate. No rooms are combined.
  2. 1+2/3 - BR 1 and BR 2 are combined - represented in green. BR 3 is separate.
  3. 1/2+3 - BR 1 is separate - represented in red. BR 2 and BR 3 are combined.
  4. 1+2+3 - All rooms are combined into one large room. No rooms are separate.

ANY student employee may extend or retract the walls. To extend or retract the walls, two employees - one on each side of the wall - are required.

Extending / Retracting Ballroom Partitions

Two operators are required to turn their keys at the same time.

  1. KEY REQUIRED: DO18. See also Keys & Access.
  2. FULLY OPEN both partition door panels until they can no longer open. There is a cable connected to the top of each door panel. The cable is connected to a latch. If the cable is not tight enough to activate the latch (due to the door not being open all the way), then attempting to extend or retract the wall will not work.
  3. Each person must insert his DO18 key into a wallplate located on both sides of the partition.
  4. Each person must turn his DO18 key in the same direction at the same time.
    • If the wall is to be extended (closed), then turn the key to "Extend".
    • If the wall is to be retracted (opened), then turn the key to "Retract".
  5. Each person must continue to turn the key in the same direction until the wall is fully extended or retracted, or until the wall reaches it's desired location for an event.
  6. After extending/retracting the wall, the door panels must be closed.
