Organizations Directly Related to KUB

There are three primary student organizations which function within the Kehr Union and which may have a major impact on the present as well as the future direction of the Kehr Union. These organizations directly and indirectly influence the policies, procedures, programs and services provided by the Kehr Union. The following is a brief statement for each of those organizations which may help to illustrate their role in relation to the Kehr Union.

Community Government Association (CGA) - Community Government Association, Inc. (CGA) is the parent organization under which the Kehr Union operates.

The purpose of this organization shall be to establish guidelines in administering the affairs, activities, concerns and general well-being of all students under the jurisdiction of the University. In addition, this organization shall establish working relationships and open lines of communication with administration, faculty and staff.


Kehr Union Governing Board - The Kehr Union Governing Board is the advisory board made up of students, faculty, and alumni that recommends all policy, procedures, and budget actions for the Kehr Union and University Store.

The Governing Board shall be responsible for devising various policies which are essential which are essential for an efficient and effective operation of the university union. The policies devised by the board are subject to the approval of the Vice President for Student Life.

The Governing Board shall be responsible for approving the annual operating budgets for the Kehr Union and University Store.

The Governing Board shall review and recommended changes, if deemed necessary, in the annual program budget submitted by the Program Board.

The Governing Board shall approve all requests for the purchase of equipment exceeding $500.

The Governing Board shall review existing programs and services offered by the university union. Similarly, it shall recommend implementation of proposed programs and services.


Kehr Union Program Board - The Kehr Union Program Board is the student organization responsible for many programs in the Union and elsewhere. Any student may join the Program Board.

The Program Board shall plan, implement and evaluate various activities for the Bloomsburg University community.

The Program Board shall recommend procedures and policies affecting the operation of the Union to the Governing Board.

The Program Board shall assist other campus organizations with the planning of the activities in the union, if deemed necessary or appropriate.

Program Board coordinates and plans student-oriented events on campus, including movies, performing artists, contests and games, and dances. Also involved in the planning for homecoming, parents and family weekend and Renaissance Jamboree.
